The 2008 Jewelry Arts Awards

Jewelry Artist magazine's annual competition yields 10 outstanding winners

We proudly present the winners of the seventh annual Jewelry Arts Awards. Entries were judged for excellence, visual appeal and impact, originality, and execution in these five categories: Pendants/Necklaces, Bracelets, Pins/Brooches, Rings, and Miscellaneous Jewelry.

Three independent experts judged this year’s entries.

Nanz Aalund is an accomplished metalsmith and a goldsmith with more than 30 years’ experience. The owner of Nanz Designz in Seattle, Washington, she has won numerous design awards (www.nanzaalund.com).

Robert Dancik is the originator of Faux Bone™, a carvable material, and a jewelry artist and teacher with more than 30 years of experience. He often teaches workshops at art centers in the U.S. and abroad (www.fauxbone.com, www.robertdancik.com).

Larry Sanders is an experienced jewelry photographer who photographs artists’ handiwork for submission to juried shows (www.juryslides.com).

Our thanks to the judges and all who entered for their hard work and participation.

To enter the 2009 Jewelry Arts Awards, entry forms will be available for download in mid November 2008 at www.jewelryartistmagazine.com/contest.
